Criminologist Job Duties

• Study psychological and social factors to determine why criminals commit crimes
• Research data related to crimes and arrests
• Review criminal acts in order to identify patterns of actions, demographics and motivation
• Determine whether or not biological factors were relevant in the development of a criminal
• Prepare reports regarding the findings of case research
• Hold reports on file and refer to them when similar crimes are committed
