Bailiff Job Description
Bailiffs are responsible for ensuring that appropriate behaviour and security are maintained within a courtroom.Bailiff Job Duties
• Maintain order in courtroom during trial• Guard jury from outside contact
• Ensure security of courtroom
• Ensure individuals do not disturb the processes of the court and courtroom personnel
• Ensure unauthorized individuals do not enter the courtroom
• Prevent jury from making contact with the public by acting as an escort to restaurants and other locations outside of the courtroom
• Guard the lodging of the sequestered jury
